Finance marketing reports should describe activity accurately without implying that an intermediate event proves a financial outcome. A post impression, site click, application start, completed application and funded account are different events. Their definitions, measurement sources and privacy requirements may differ.
Define The Event And Its Source
Document what each number counts, which platform or system supplies it, the reporting period and whether it is unique or non-unique. Explain whether the figure represents an estimate, an observed event or a completed transaction. If multiple systems use different windows or attribution rules, show them separately rather than adding them into one unexplained total.

Respect Attribution And Privacy Limits
Attribution assigns credit according to a model and available tracking data. It does not by itself prove that a marketing touch caused a customer’s action. Explain gaps such as consent choices, cross-device behavior, offline steps or missing tags. Avoid reporting personal financial details in marketing dashboards unless there is an approved, privacy-protective basis.
Google Analytics and Search Console provide different reporting views; define which evidence supports each conclusion. Keep campaign activity separate from company portfolio totals and client-level outcomes. A company-reported number should retain its source, date, period and scope wherever it appears.

End With A Decision And A Caveat
Describe what the team learned, what remains unknown and what it will check next. If a test does not support a conclusion, say so. This helps decision-makers avoid treating a rise in traffic or impressions as proof of revenue, return or customer benefit.
